As a child, Kathy was lucky enough to grow up in two places, including New Mexico, where she grew up in a Quaker family — she didn’t name any siblings. Baker will be 69 years old in early 2020.
Baker attended hair high school in Millbrae at Mills High school, graduating in 1968. During the early 1970s, she attended the California Institute of Arts, where she studied acting. Her French-born mother influenced her to attend the University of California (in Berkeley), where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French.
Baker later traveled to Paris, where she studied haute cuisine at the Condon Bleu, and returned to the United States to become a pastry chef. However, she hadn’t realized how strongly she wanted to pursue an acting career.
