Elisabeth “Elie” Scott, a clinical psychologist from Salt Lake City, Utah, will participate in the 43rd season of Survivor. She is 31 years old and feels that her professional expertise with PTSD patients will give her an edge in the game, allowing her to win. Ever since CBS announced the full cast for season 43 of Survivor, fans have been eager to learn more about Elisabeth “Elie” Scott. So without further ado, let’s meet contestant Elisabeth “Elie” Scott ahead of the Survivor season 43 premiere.
When she was younger, Elisabeth “Elie” Scott struggled with self-doubt.
Elisabeth “Elie” Scott, a 31-year-old contestant from Salt Lake City, Utah, reportedly longed to be a part of the critically acclaimed reality series Survivor since she graduated. She was absolutely fascinated by the reality series at the time, as one of her close friends made a connection between her and Michele Fitzgerald. Survivor Season 43 begins with three tribes: Baka (represented by the color yellow), Vesi (represented by the color red), and Coco (represented by the color blue). Elisabeth “Elie” Scott, a contestant, will be a member of the Baka tribe.
In a recent interview with Parade, Scott explained why she entered the CBS reality competition series:
“I started my application to Survivor with the intention of just appearing on the program, because I’m charmed by it. I’m a big fan. But during the audition process, I did a lot of self-reflection and realized I had a lot to prove myself. I’ve doubted myself a lot about my abilities since I was a kid.”
She continued and said:
“And I think I wanted to show myself that I could go outside my comfort zone and try something new. Through my career and family structure, I’ve always been in a position to serve others. So this is an opportunity for me to focus on myself and put myself first for the first time in my life.”
When asked about her favorite moments from previous seasons of the show, she said:
“I have so many great moments in Survivor history. I believe the one I just said, where Erik handed over his idol and the brilliant Black Widow Brigade orchestrated it. Everyone did an excellent job. It was a real team effort, with everyone working together to create this incredible surprise. But I also like strange and funny events.”
She continued and said:
“I was reminded of one today where Billy confessed his love for Candice” [in the Cook Islands]. And it felt really off-putting just thinking about how we’re sitting here right now, staring at each other. We are not allowed to talk to each other before the game. I can imagine how embarrassing it must have been. (laughs) But it was also a very funny and sweet moment. That came to my mind today.”
Discussing how her effort would give her a significant advantage in the game, the contestant stated:
“I think my profession has prepared me really well for this competition. My job is quite difficult. I treat veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. In any session, you never know what to expect. They may all have PTSD, but everyone’s experience with it is unique. As a result, I have to think quickly on my feet. I have to be able to form a strong bond with individuals in the first session you meet them.”
In addition to Elisabeth “Elie” Scott, the Survivor Season 43 cast includes Cody Assenmacher, Geo Bustamante, Mike Gabler, Owen Knight, Jesse Lopez, Dwight Moore, Morriah Young, James Jones, Jeanie Zheng, and others. Don’t forget to tune in for Survivor Season 43 Episode 1 on CBS on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
