Richard Kline was born on April 29, he was born to his mother Leah Klein in Queens, New York. Nothing is known about his father. Richard attended Queens College of the City University of New York in America before earning a master’s degree in theater from Northwestern University. After graduation, he joined the UNITED STATES ARMY and served as a lieutenant in the Vietnam War.

He also played the role of Larry Dallas in the spin-off series THE ROPERS and THREES A CROWD. He also presented series of two games, TO TELL THE TRUTH and JUMBLE.
On September 3, 1990, the EAST COAST aired its TO TELL THE TRUTH pilot. On SWEETHEARTS he filled in for CHARLES NEILSON REILLY. He was hired to play the Wizard in WICKED in 2010. Later, in 2011, he appeared in IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU. In 2016, he met fans and signed autographs with the cast of Three’s Company at THE HOLLYWOOD SHOW in Chicago, an autograph and memorabilia event. He is currently touring the country with the MUSICAL.
