Sir Lenny Henry plays Sadoc Burrows, an elder of Harfoot, in Amazon Studios’ upcoming fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The series is based on the work of JRR Tolkien and is a spin-off of the Lord of the Rings film and the Hobbit trilogies. The Rings of Power is a prequel to the film series set a thousand years before the events of The Hobbit. In Tolkien’s world, Sadoc Burrows is a Harfoot or some kind of hobbit. They are the most numerous hobbies, but also the shortest in length. In addition, they have darker skin than Fallohides and Stoors. The Harfoot community can also be seen whistling in the trailer. They live in burrows called smials and keep in touch with dwarves.

On Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 6:00 PM PT/9:00 PM ET, the first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will be released on Amazon Prime Video. Read on to learn more about the actor who will play Sadoc Burrows in the next series.

Sir Lenny Henry from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is a household name in the comedy world.

In The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Sir Lenny Henry plays the Harfoot elder, Sadoc Burrows. Henry was a popular stand-up comedian in the 1970s and 1980s, leading to his appearance on The Lenny Henry Show in 1984. Henry was born after his parents came to Britain from Jamaica. Henry began his career in comedy in 1975 when he entered the talent show New Faces. Lenny later appeared in The Fosters, the first British comedy series with a predominantly black cast.

Henry co-founded the charity British Comic Relief in 1985. Although Lenny has been in comedy shows, his film debut came later. He made his film debut in the 1987 film Coast to Coast. In the 2004 film Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, he also played the Shrunken Head. Lenny will now be featured in the next Tolkien world expansion. Although the Harfoots are Tolkien characters, Sadoc Burrows’ character was invented for the series, according to a fan website.

Henry discussed his acting career and role with the Press Association news agency.

“So that was my goal: to be in situations where I could get along with other decent people. For me, the shift took place over the past 10 to 15 years, and I was always looking for something similar.”
