OPEN THURSDAY!!! We all know the “Country Boy”, Frank Lucas. Frank made his name in Harlem in the ’60s and settled under Ellsworth “Bumpy” Johnson…more or less. When Vietnam broke out, Frank wisely saw it as a great opportunity to take out the mafia as go-betweens in the dope game. Frank went straight to the source in Asia. Soon Frank’s organization was smuggling heroin directly into the states from the “Golden Triangle” (nickname for an area of Southeast Asia that thrives on opium). Frank’s organization consisted of his brothers and cousins…..and wife. Julianna Farrait-Rodriguez was a true beauty queen from Puerto Rico. After meeting Frank at a nightclub, the two fell in love and soon got married. Julianna didn’t like the life Frank chose, and had no qualms about keeping her dressed in the best of clothes. She was so down, in fact she became a contributing member of the organization. The two gave each other the most beautiful gifts, from jewelry to furs to luxury mobile phones. Julianna was the one who gave Frank a nice, full, chinchilla coat. The gift was so ostentatious that it caught the attention of detectives one night during a prize fight. This led to an investigation that would eventually bring the entire organization down. When the police raided, Julianna tried to do her part by destroying evidence. She threw a suitcase full of $585,000 out the window! She later pleaded guilty and received 5 years for her role in the organization. Frank and Julianna broke up but rekindled their relationship in the late 90s, but they didn’t live happily ever after. In 2010, at age 65, Julianna was stabbed after selling 2 pounds of raw vegetables to an undercover for $60,000. Julianna missed the life she said. Embarrassed, she said, “Those who say money isn’t important are lying. People say money doesn’t buy happiness. Isn’t that true?’ Hurt and remorseful, Julianna begged for mercy so she could watch over her ailing ex-drug-trafficking ex-prisoner husband. The judge said tough biscuits and gave her 5 years. The lovebirds are still in love with each other, and in love with them “birds”.

Unfortunately, nothing more is available about Julianna’s life before she met Frank Lucas, including her family, education, and whether she has any siblings or not.

Julianna Farrait and Frank Lucas Relation

Julianna and Frank met at one of the Puerto Rican clubs, but there is no information when this happened; the two clicked immediately and began a romance that lasted until the end of Frank’s life. They were married for over 40 years and had seven children together, including daughter Francine Lucas-Sinclair and son Frank Lucas Jr. Julianna was involved in the illegal drug smuggling business alongside Frank, and when everything collapsed, she was caught too.

Frank was arrested in 1976 and the following year Frank, Julianna and their daughter were placed under the witness protection program. Julianna left Frank when they both got out of prison and went back to Puerto Rico. However, the couple reconciled in 2006 and remained together until Frank’s death in 2019.

Prison time

Julianna spent five years in prison after her arrest and trial; after she was released, she lived a peaceful life in Puerto Rico for a while. However, she later returned to the US and went back to live with her husband.

Four years later, Julianna was caught selling two kilograms of cocaine at a Puerto Rico hotel because her client was an undercover FBI informant. This led to another prison sentence, this time for five years.

Julianna Farrait Net worth, height, weight and appearance

While their business was thriving, Julianna and Frank were worth millions, but their net worth declined over time. Today, Julianna’s net worth in early 2020 is still estimated to be over $1.5 million.

Julianna Farrait is 1.62 m tall while she weighs about 56 kg. She has brown eyes while her hair is now gray although she had brown hair.

Julianna Farrait’s husband, Frank Lucas

Frank Lucas was born on September 9, 1930 in La Grange, North Carolina USA, the son of Fred Lucas and his wife Mahalee (née Jones). He spent his childhood in Greensboro, California, and had a difficult childhood, witnessing several disturbing events during his early teens.

One such experience was the murder of his 12-year-old cousin by Ku Klux Klan members, murdered because his cousin was watching a white woman in the town where they lived. This changed his outlook on life and started with petty crimes until he moved to New York City, and started working for Bumpy Johnson.

Life as a criminal

He worked for Johnson until… are deadAlthough some of his stories have been discredited, it was after Bumpy Johnson’s death that Frank took his life into his own hands. At first, he just traveled across the US, looking for a way to make it. He realized that the Italian mafia had a monopoly on New York and he had to break it somehow.

He visited Bangkok, Thailand, and at Jack’s American Star Bar, a gathering place for soldiers, met former US Army sergeant Leslie “Ike” Atkinson, who helped him smuggle drugs into the US after Frank established contacts with dealers in Southeast. Asia and began smuggling drugs into the US – according to some sources, he used coffins from deceased US military soldiers. His main import was from Thailand, and his heroin called “Blue Magic” is said to be 98-100% pure.

At the height of his business, Frank was making about $1 million on the streets of New York, and at one point his net worth was about $30 billion.

He and his wife were known to buy expensive gifts for each other, but Lucas liked to look more casual and businesslike, as he didn’t want to draw a lot of attention to himself.

Arrest, imprisonment, death

Frank and Julianna’s home in Teaneck, New Jersey, US was raided in January 1975, and agents of the US Drug Enforcement Administration and other New York Police Department investigators found more than $500,000 in cash. He was arrested and sentenced to 70 years in prison. However, he entered into a plea deal and gave away evidence that yielded more than 100 other drug-related convictions, so he served only five years and was released in 1981.

Just three years later, however, Frank was back to normal and was caught exchanging an ounce of heroin and $13,000 for a kilo of cocaine. This time, his sentence was seven years in prison.

He became a public face in 2007 when he was the subject of the movie “American Gangster”, played by Denzel Washington. Frank visited the set and provided the director and actor with information and advice about himself and his way of life.

Frank spent the last years of his life in a wheelchair because he was involved in a car accident that broke his legs. He died on May 30, 2019 at his home in Cedar Grove, New Jersey.
