Isn’t this the right time, after this weekend’s spectacular final, to Power Book IV: Force Season 2 premiere date? Needless to say, there will be a desire for more; the only question is when.
According to TV Line, the grisly crime drama has been officially renewed for a second season after just five episodes. The reveal was apparently announced along with Starz’s appointment of new showrunner Gary Lennon. Gary succeeds series creator Robert Munic, who oversaw production during the first season.
Can we begin by acknowledging that there is one more season to come? That was confirmed early this year, not that it came as a surprise. The Joseph Sikora drama is off to a strong start in the ratings and there are several reasons to be optimistic.
The first item on the agenda, of course, is what we already know will be different in Season 2. Season 1 showrunner Robert Munic has already left the project and has been replaced by franchise alumin Gary Lennon, who previously worked on another Starz series, Hightown. There is no casting news as of yet, but we expect that to change in the coming months.
Power Force Season 2 Release Date
As for a possible premiere date, our current thinking is that new episodes will air in early 2023. Power shows are typically held once a year and we see no indication that this will change in the future. Filming is expected to begin in the coming months and we can expect further formal announcements on a debut date in late 2022 or early 2023.
Power Force Season 2 Cast
Aside from Sikora, Starz has not confirmed which cast members and characters will reprise their roles in Force Season 2. However, the first season also featured Isaac Keys (Diamond), Kris D. Lofton (Jenard Sampson), Lili Simmons (Claudia “Claud Flynn) , Gabrielle Ryan (Gloria), Shane Harper (Vic Flynn) and Anthony Fleming III (JP Gibbs).
Given the Power universe’s reputation for dramatic fatalities, the actions of the April 17 season finale may shed some light on the cast of Season 2. Viewers are already aware that Gabrielle Ryan’s Gloria will not be returning for Season 2 – at least not physically. “Gabrielle is OK,” Ryan wrote in a March 28 Instagram post, sharing behind-the-scenes footage of her character’s death. “Gloria, on the other hand, now has a bloody wound on her face… Why didn’t Vic just listen to Tommy? He had never misdirected it before, as he claimed.” For his part, Sikora has tagged a “dump” of photos from March 28, including him and Ryan, with “GUTTED”. One of my all-time favorite people.”
