86 Season 2 Release Date
The release date for 86 Season 2 is set for October 2, 2021, during the Fall 2021 anime season. The second season will be available in four Blu-ray/DVD packs, each containing all 12 episodes.
The decision to postpone the final two episodes of 86 Eighty-Six Season 1 was met with outrage by community members.
However, once it became known that the reason for the closure was to preserve the excellent quality of Court 2, public perception improved.
Interestingly enough, this is the anime series’ story so far in terms of public perception and ratings. After an uninspiring start to broadcast, the anime series 86 Eighty-Six quickly became one of the hottest new releases of the year.
At the time of writing, the series has an exceptional 9/10 on RatinGraph and an 8.2/10 on IMDB, with Part 1 receiving an 8.2/10 out of 217,000 reviews and Part 2 receiving an 8.47/10 out of 54,000 reviews on MyAnimeList.
As one fan wrote on MyAnimeList, “the term masterpiece is used so freely these days that it has almost lost its meaning.” However, they go further by stating that “Eighty-Six:86 is a masterpiece in the truest sense of the word and one of the best stories in the medium’s contemporary history.”
Who are the cast members of season 2 of 86?
The story of “86 Eighty-Six” revolves around the central ensemble of individuals. The connection between Colorata and Alba is explored through Lena’s (Japanese: Ikumi Hasegawa; English: Suzie Yeung) long-distance relationship with Spearhead (via Myanimelist). Though she opens the story with pro-Colorata sentiments, her understanding of their plight as warriors and second-class humans evolves over the course of the novel. This is especially true of her relationship with Spearhead Captain Shin “Undertaker” Nouzen (Shouya Chiba/Billy Kametz).
However, these two are only a small part of what makes Spearhead unique. Raiden Shuga (Seiichir Yamashita/Jonah Scott), Theoto Rikka (Natsumi Fujiwara/Casey Mongillo), Anju Emma (Saori Hayami/Maureen Prince), and Kurena Kukumila (Sayami Suzushiro/Erica Mendez) are among the other main characters featured in the second cour. Still, this group represents a minority of the Spearhead population, and as Lena prepares for the next generation of Spearhead fighters, the cast of personalities will only grow.
