Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon is an adventure, fantasy genre anime series that was first released in 2020 but is prepared as a sequel to an older anime series. The anime series, licensed by Viz Media, is inspired by Rumiko Takahashi’s manga series, published between 1996 and 2008. ‘Yashhime: Princess Half-Demon’, a sequel to ‘Inuyasha: the last act‘ anime adapted from the same manga, was created by Sunrise, the same studio as the original series. Originally aired on ytv, the anime has also aired worldwide on Hulu TV and Funimation† In this way, the second season of the anime series, which can be seen from all over the world, is now highly curious. What we know so far about anime, is the second season already confirmed?

What is the storyline of the anime?

The daughters of Sesshomaru and Inuyasha embark on a journey beyond time. In Feudal Japan, Semi-Demon Twins towa and Setsuna fall apart during a forest fire. While Towa is desperate for her younger sister, she enters a mysterious tunnel that sends her to modern-day Japan, where she will be found and raised by Kagome Higurashi’s brother Sota and his family.

After ten years, this tunnel connecting the two eras is reopened and connects Towa and Setsuna, now working as Demon Hunter for Kohaku. However, Setsuna doesn’t remember anything about Towa. With the addition of Inuyasha and Kagome’s daughter Moroha, three young women embark on an adventure to find their lost past between two eras.

After the first season;

It was a great final and it was a drama. Fans couldn’t believe that Setsuna actually died. Sesshōmaru came before him. The sword he gave Towa seems to have a different detail because he asked her to use it. What’s behind the sword will likely be one of the details mentioned in the second season. Although Sesshōmaru seems like he doesn’t care, he actually values his kids more than anything else. Even Rin is willing to give up now; she is in a lot of pain indeed. The tone of her voice when she spoke to Towa was full of emotion. Moraha’s strength is not overlooked; it’s already a matter of curiosity what she can do in the second season. As she develops his spiritual powers, it seems that no one can stand in his way. The fact that Kirara was with her was one of the details that the audience liked in the first season. Another fan expectation from next season is the arrival of Inu and Kagome.

Will there be a second season of Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon?

The first season of the anime will air from October 3, 2020 to March 20, 2021. According to the announcement made right after the first season was completed, the anime has been renewed for a second season. The news of the renewal came with a visual teaser poster after the anime’s first season finale. Season two was officially called ‘Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon: The Second Act

Related to the news, Rumiko Takahashiparticipating in the lead character design work, said:

“The first season ended in a very difficult place, but I think the second season, such as solving various mysteries and the whereabouts of the parent generation, is full of highlights. I’m sorry, what will happen!?”

fairy ranmaru season 2

The anime’s disc sales will begin on March 24. However, the decision of the second season was made without seeing the results of the disc sales, which is rare in the anime world. The series, which reached 170,000 followers on Twitteris the highest-rated in Japan, and thanks to this popularity, the anime had no trouble getting approval for its second season.

When is the second season release date?

The second season the anime has been confirmed to be produced by Sunrise Studio. The second season of the anime is expected to consist of 24 episodes, just like the first season. We had said, “A 24-episode production will take at least a year. The early renewal signals that the anime may be released at the end of 2021” and the Publication date decision shared on April 26, 2021, didn’t surprise us. The anime has been announced to air in autumn 2021† (Probably in October).

Update on June 30, 2021: It is announced that the anime will be broadcast on October 2, 2021on Yomiuri TV and NTV in Japan.
